Klein brother is sentenced for crimes committed during U.S. Capitol breach

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jonathanpeter Allen Klein, 24, from Pendleton was sentenced Monday to nine months in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution for assaulting law enforcement and other offenses committed during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol.

His brother, Matthew Leland Klein, 27, also from Pendleton, was sentenced Nov. 14 to 90 days in prison and three years of supervised release to charges also released to the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.

Both men pleaded guilty to charges. The FBI arrested the two on March 23, 2021, in Oregon.
