Kirby now a certified Police Officer

LA GRANDE – Cody Kirby, past Code Officer in La Grande, has graduated from the Oregon Basic Police Academy and is now a certified police officer with the City of La Grande. The Basic Police Academy is a 16-week training program which develops basic skills in all the disciplines needed for performing patrol work. The training involves classroom, skills, and scenario-based training. Each La Grande Police Department recruit must also complete a 3 to 4 month Field Training Program (On-the-job training) before an officer can work patrol in a solo status.
