Kennewick man suspected of injury hit and run collision arrested

WALLA WALLA – The Washington State Patrol reports Ray C. Valdez, 24, of Kennewick was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly causing a three vehicle accident that injured five people.
Troopers said Valdez was traveling in a eastbound on U.S. 12 near milepost 326, three miles west of Walla Walla, when he attempted to pass two other vehicles at a high rate of speed at 7:31 a.m.
Valdez struck the rear of one vehicle, then that vehicle struck another vehicle. All three vehicles were totaled. Valdez left the scene on foot. He was apprehended by deputies from the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office.
WSP said drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
