OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Health had to shut down two of the four state-operated mass vaccination sites over the weekend. Storms in the eastern United States impacted shipments to Washington. Cancelled clinics were in Kennewick and Spokane.
The clinic at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick will resume tomorrow (Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., but only for people who need a second shot. As soon as the vaccines ship, appointment schedules will be offered online. People who need assistance may call the COVID-19 hotline at 800-525-0127, then press #.
People with appointments are asked to enter the fairgrounds from the 10th Street parking lot. Those arriving for a second dose must bring their COVID-19 vaccination record card, which were handed out during the first dose. The card shows the first dose date and the type of vaccine received.
DOH also anticipates the state clinics in Spokane and Ridgefield should have shipments that will allow them to reopen Tuesday as well. The Wenatchee clinic has enough vaccine to open today (Monday).
