Kase Schaffeld of Vale nominated to attend two U.S. Service Academies

VALE — One Vale High School student has been nominated for consideration to attendthe prestigious United States Military Academy and the United States Naval Academy. Vale High School Senior Kase Schaffeld was nominated to the academies by Congressman Cliff Bentz.

The Congressman has nominated thirteen other students from across Oregon to serve in the United States Services Academies. Potential candidates were selected by Congressman Bentz’s Service Academy Nomination Board, who recommended the students based on criteria including character, academic performance, and extracurricular involvement.

In a new release, Congressman Cliff Bentz said,“Years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to character have earned these future leaders their nominations. By pursuing higher education at one of our country’s select service academies, these students have shown a desire to lead by example, grow intellectually, and serve the United States in uniform.”

Kase Schaffeld’s parents are Steve and Jeri Schaffeld of Vale.
