WALLA WALLA – A Walla Walla man wanted in connection with damaging property at a laundromat on Isaacs Avenue was arrested Wednesday following a review by police of surveillance cameras. The Walla Walla Police Department determined the suspect to be Robert Leroy Dawson, 42, and located him in his vehicle on West Elm Street.
Upon contact by officers, Dawson was not being cooperative but was eventually placed into custody for allegedly breaking into a locked bathroom door at the laundromat causing damage.
When officers contacted Dawson and an unnamed female passenger, officers started to notice indications of drug possession and possible delivery. A narcotics K9 team responded to the scene and the K9 indicated an odor of illegal narcotics in the vehicle that Dawson was driving. The vehicle was seized. Following a search warrant on the vehicle, a large amount of illegal narcotics, cash, and a firearm were all located inside the vehicle.
Dawson was booked into the Walla Walla County Jail on charges of possession of illegal narcotics with intent to deliver, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, and third-degree malicious mischief.
