Justin Lieuallen is the new Grant Union Principal

JOHN DAY – Grant School District #3 has named Justin Lieuallen as the new Grant Union JR/SR High School Principal. Superintendent Mark Witty said, “Justin Lieuallen will be a great addition to the Grant School District Team. His roots in Eastern Oregon, strong background in curriculum, school improvement and Career Technical Education makes him a great fit for Grant Union JR/SR High School.”

Grant School District No. 3 Board of Directors voted 7-0 to approve Superintendent Witty’s  recommendation to hire Justin Lieuallen as the new Grant Union JR/SR High School Principal  during the March 13, 2024 board meeting. 

Mr. Lieuallen has an impressive record of administrative experience starting in 2003 working in  various roles including assistant principal, principal, and various leadership roles at Willamette  Educational Service District where he led school improvement for 21 school districts in the region.  He also has a strong track record in working with Career Technical Education coursework both at  the school level and regionally. 

“I’m excited to be returning to Eastern Oregon and look forward to working with staff, students,  and families in the Grant Union community where our combined knowledge and efforts to create  a highly valued learning environment will result in a better future for all.” said Mr. Justin  Lieuallen. 

“I am excited to have a Principal of Justin Lieuallen’s caliber coming to Grant Union  Junior/Senior High School. Justin’s strong, diverse educational background, coupled with his  Eastern Oregon roots, will serve our students, staff, and community in a valuable way. Justin  provides an immediate impact, and I look forward to him being part of the continuing success of  Grant School District #3.” said Will Blood, School Board Chair.

Mr. Lieuallen will be at Grant Union from time to time this spring to assure a smooth and  productive transition.
