For those in the Wallowa County area looking for some hands-on artistic instruction this winter, the Josephy Center offers wood carving, mug making, and more See the Center’s full press release below:

Kickstart your creativity this February with our hands-on art classes! Whether you’re interested in wood carving or ceramics, we’ve got something for everyone.

  1. Steve Arment Wood Carving Series – Discover the Magic of Wood Carving!
  • Dates: February 5th – 26th
  • Time: Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 PM
  • Cost: $140 (preregistration required)
  • Ages: 14 and up (tools provided)
    Learn from Wallowa County’s renowned woodcarver, Steve Arment. Perfect for beginners and experienced carvers alike!
  1. Hand-building Mugs & More – Hearts & Love Theme with Cheryl North Coughlan
  • Build Day: Friday, Feb 7, 3-5 PM
  • Glaze Day: Friday, Feb 14, 3-5 PM OR Saturday, Feb 15, 10-12 PM
  • Cost: $50 (2-day class)
    Create unique clay projects inspired by love, perfect for all skill levels!
  1. Choose Your Project! Hand-building Ceramics with Julia Allen
  • Build Day: Tuesday, Feb 11, 5:30-8 PM
  • Glaze Day: Tuesday, Feb 25, 5:30-8 PM
