JOSEPH – Scholarship season continues in Northeast Oregon, and Wallowa County students are once again making headlines. The P.E.O. (Philanthropic Education Organization) Sisterhood recently announced that Joseph High School’s own Camdyn Weer has been selected to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship award. As written by PEO in a recent press release:
“Camdyn Weer, a senior at Joseph High School, has been selected to receive a prestigious
$2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was recommended by Chapter I, P.E.O. of La Grande, OR which has been a part of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Union County since 1913.
Camdyn plans to attend Oregon State University in the Fall with a dual major in Business Administration and Interior Design.
P.E.O. (Philanthropic Education Organization) is a non-profit organization providing grants, scholarships, awards, and loans for women. This highly competitive national STAR Scholarship is for women who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.”
The award was presented to Weer by Christine McLean, a member of La Grande Chapter I’s P.E.O. Education Committee. Congratulations to Camdyn Weer!
