JOHN DAY – John Day Parks and Recreation have been busy getting things ready for the warm season. Office Manager, Executive Assistant, and Board Secretary Ana DeVicentis was on KJDY’s Coffee Time on Thursday, and gave an update on some project work at the 7th Street Sports Complex in John Day:
“Before irrigation season started, we did a bit of a temporary fix for the ditch to kind of help fix some of that leaking. We’re actively working to repair the really bad sections of out walking path; and that should be done by the end of June, so, that’s good. And then, we had ODFW come back in and stock the pond, so fishing is in season now.”
Last fall, the ODFW dredged out the 7th Street Pond to improve fish habitat, and according to DeVicentis, anglers are now welcome back.
