John Day to swear in new mayor, 2 new councilors

JOHN DAY – The John Day City Council will meet Tuesday evening at the Fire Hall in John Day. Three new city officials will be sworn in to start off the meeting. They include Mayor Heather Rookstool and Councilors Sherrie Rininger and Ron Phillips. Also on the agenda, the city council will appoint someone to the City Councilor 3 position, left vacant by Mayor Rookstool. The final action item on the agenda includes a resolution authorizing someone to perform certain city manager duties and responsibilities.
