John Day moving forward on purple pipe project

JOHN DAY – John Day Mayor Heather Rookstool recently provided KJDY and News 102 listeners with an update to the incoming new wastewater treatment plant, specifically regarding the reclaimed water portion of the project:
“We reviewed our price proposals for the purple pipe project—the recycled water project. Those hopefully will go out, and then there’s a seven-day window for any contract negotiations and stuff. It’s hopeful that the council will be awarding a contractor/engineer for that [Feb.] 28th meeting.”
Rookstool said that awarding a contractor would be the, “…first of many steps to working toward finalizing, and getting some construction actually happening.” The next John Day City Council meeting is February 28th. Download the agenda at cityofjohnday.com.
