JOHN DAY – John Day City Manager Nick Green recently came in the studio to announce the city has received a letter of further consideration for around $2 million dollars in federal grant funding to provide broadband fiber internet to every home and business in John Day. He said the $2 million will cover the broadband, and then some:
“We’re going to be upgrading the Grant County Emergency Communication Agency’s equipment. That was part of the package, and we also have funding for the Cyber Mill to put [in] their John Day facility and make that live and operational so we’ve got a hub for 24/7 access to the internet here in town.”
We’ll keep you updated as the projects move forward.
