John Day Elks provided over 1,300 hours of community volunteer work

JOHN DAY – John Day Elks Lodge past Exalted Ruler Charlie Caughlin was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently, explaining the scope of the organization’s local community involvement over the last year:

“This includes our youth projects, our veterans, our community service…we’ve had approximately 3,400 participants, another 375 Elks took part in that, with a total of 1,361 hours by the Elks. We had people give us a hand, which was another 200 hours.”

The John Day Elks will be holding a free Thanksgiving dinner for anyone in the community on Thursday, the 24th. Disabled and homebound community members are encouraged to call ahead for free delivery service at (541) 575-1824.
