JOHN DAY – The John Day City Council will meet tomorrow evening at the Fire Hall, and the agenda has been posted on the city’s website. Highlighted action items on the agenda include a public hearing regarding the sale of city property; a Charolais Heights project update and the naming of the road currently referred to as government way; as well as discussions around a police agreement. Currently, police coverage for the city is being handled by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office following the suspension of the John Day Police Department on November 1st, due to lack of funds. The city is currently awaiting word on whether or not they’ve received a COPS grant that could help with the funding.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the John Day Fire Hall. Folks can also join the meeting virtually. Find instructions as well as the full agenda at www.cityofjohnday.com.
