John Day City Council to discuss Community Development Director position

JOHN DAY – The City of John Day will meet in their regularly scheduled council meeting this evening at the John Day Fire Hall. In this meeting, there will be a work session to discuss Straw to Gold as well as discussions around a Community Development Director / Planner & GRO Coordinator. Last week Interim City Manager Rick Allen was on Coffee Time, and said he has been doing some work internally for the city. He said some of the problems John Day faces are typical for a city that has had a personnel change:
“…people then go, move, quit, retire, start—based on elections and that’s a common theme. There’s usually some “unsettledness” going on to put it politely. I’m working kind of internally, trying to help get everything from our hours to how you handle things…”
