John Day City Council approves strategic plan; appoints Councilor Courtney

JOHN DAY – Melissa Bethel, Manager for the City of John Day, was on KJDY’s Coffee Time yesterday and reflected on their recent City Council meeting. She said the long-considered strategic plan has been approved:
“They approved the strategic plan that they’ve been working on for, I think, a year now. That’s going to move us into the future and prioritize where we spend our resources and our time. Obviously, it can be revisited. If something comes up, it’s not ‘stuck.’”
Also, at the City Council meeting, Steve Courtney was appointed as a City Councilor, filling a position left vacant by Chris Labhart. The Council has one vacant position remaining, which they have opted to fill in the November election.
