John Day City Council appoints Cochran into vacant position

JOHN DAY – The John Day City Council once again has a full roster of councilmembers, with Meloni Cochran being recently appointed as the newest councilor. John Day City Manager Melissa Bethel was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently and said Councilor Cochran has already served the city in various capacities:
“She cares about the city. She was on the Budget Committee, she’s been coming to all the meetings, she’s been active in the community with the Senior Center, and just has a love for this city.”
The city still has openings for another Planning Commissioner, as well as for committee members for the “Pit Stop Committee.” Applications are available at John Day City Hall or at cityofjohnday.com.
