JOHN DAY – The John Day Canyon City Parks and Recreation District will be receiving a $14,000 grant from the Portland Trail Blazers Foundation, thanks to work from Parks & Rec Office Manager Ana DeVincentis. Ana, along with longtime volunteer and former Summer Meal Programs Coordinator Taysha Humbird recently attended a Trail Blazers game, where Ana joined others on the court during halftime for recognition. The grant money will be used to “fund activity programs for the children and community we serve,” according to a JDCCPRD release.
DeVincentis has also been selected to receive the Oregon Youth Leadership Award, which will be presented at the Oregon Governor’s Conference on Travel in April. JDCCPRD states, “This well-deserved recognition highlights her dedication, leadership, and impactful work within our community.”
