John Day Basin Partnership to undergo post-fire planning project

LONG CREEK – North Fork John Day Watershed Council Executive Director Kristen Walz was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently. Walz said the John Day Basin Partnership is planning a large post-fire restoration planning project:

“Six SWCD’s and four Watershed Councils are working together, we’re sort of all saying, ‘we’ve never done this before.’ You know, there are some organizations who were around during the Canyon Creek Fire, or their operating areas were impacted, but some of us just haven’t done it. This planning project is really to take all of that information and collate all that data, and then provide a roadmap for restoration.”
