PENDLETON – The Pendleton School District Board of Directors that its offered a contract to Michelle Jensen of West Linn to be the district’s next superintendent.
Jensen is currently a primary school principal in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District and has held that position since 2019. Previously, she worked in the Hermiston School District as a counselor from 2005 to 2016, and served as a principal in the Hillsboro School District from 2016 to 2019.
Eleven people applied for the position. The board interviewed two finalists for the position on Monday. Jensen will assume the duties of superintendent beginning July 1.
Douglas Nelson and Heidi Sipe of McPherson & Jacobson LLC served as consultants in the search process. Sipe, who is the superintendent for the Umatilla School District, will continue working with the Pendleton school board and Jensen in helping establish performance objectives for her, according to a statement from PSD.
