GRANT COUNTY – John Day Interagency Dispatch reported a couple of small wildfire starts that began last Thursday. The Stahl Canyon Fire, 4.1 miles south of Lonerock grew to about an acre in size before firefighters achieved control and containment the next day.
Also, on Thursday, the Oxhead Ridge Fire was reported in the morning to be burning in grass, brush and slash. That fire was 100% mopped up later that afternoon, and only grew to a tenth of an acre. The information from both fires comes from wildcad.net.
There’s a 20% chance of lightning over Grant County tonight and into tomorrow.
