PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission meets at 6 p.m. today (Tuesday) followed by the regular meeting of the Pendleton City Council at 7 p.m. Both meetings are in council chambers at Pendleton City Hall.
The PDC, the city’s urban renewal agency, will get an update on new financing for projects from Banner Bank. The commissioners will also hear the results of the annual survey of downtown businesses. While the survey shows the occupancy rate showed little change in the Southeast Third to Southwest Third and the Southeast Sixth to Southwest Sixth areas, occupancy on Main Street itself declined by eight percent.
The city council will hear a request from Parks and Recreation Director Liam Hughes that he be allowed to apply for grant funding that could be used to make repairs and upgrades at Roy Raley Park. Among the improvements Hughes would like to see are the rebuilding of the tennis and pickleball courts, installation of in-ground coils for the ice rink, replacing play equipment that was removed when it became dangerous, and fix the ADA stall of the men’s bathroom that was vandalized.
Both meetings can be accessed on Zoom. The meeting ID is 828 8379 1831 and the pass code is 832360.
