Investigation underway on Canyon City restaurant break-in

GRANT COUNTY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley was in the KJDY and News 102 Newsroom on Thursday, discussing an ongoing burglary investigation. On Sunday, reports came in that someone had broken into the Squeeze-In restaurant in Canyon City the previous night. The Sheriff couldn’t indulge much, but he said the investigation is underway:
“Somebody got in there, and it appeared to be somebody with some knowledge about the area, so it was not a random ‘drive-by break-in.‘
We’ve got some pretty good leads on that. Sergeant Rand has done some excellent work on that case, and I believe we’ll be able to wrap that up in the next week or so.”
