Investigation underway into officer-involved shooting

PASCO – The Tri-Cities Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has responded and is conducting an investigation into an officer-involved shooting that took place Wednesday at the Lakeview Trailer Park, 1505 South Road 40 in Pasco.
Officers from the Pasco Police Department responded at 11:42 p.m. to a disturbance in progress. The SIU said a man holding a firearm and struggling with a woman inside a residence fired at officers as they were making initial contact.
One officer responded with deadly force and fired back while retreating from the door to the residence.
Officers approached the door again when the male stopped firing his firearm and it was determined that the male and female sustained what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
The SIU said first aid was rendered by the officers until medics arrived. Both were transported out of the area for treatment and are listed in critical condition. None of the Pasco officers were injured.
Identities of the involved individuals, including the identity of the involved Pasco Police officer will be released at a later time.
