WESTON – An Oregon State fire marshal was on the scene of the fire at the Long Branch Café and Lounge in Weston last night (Sunday) to investigate the cause of the fire that seriously damaged the structure that afternoon.
East Umatilla Fire & Rescue received the call at 4:50 p.m. Sunday. When firefighters arrived, one person safely exited the building. No firefighters were injured as they battled the fire. One engine, one ladder truck, Medic 61, Rescue 62 with 11 firefighters along with five firefighters from Milton-Freewater Rural Fire arrived. The crew from Milton-Freewater responded with a fire engine and a command vehicle.
EUFR Public Information Officer and Fire Fighter Suzie Reitz reported water damage was also incurred in the bar area which is connected to the restaurant. No damage estimate has been issued at this time.
