Interim City Manager hits the ground running

JOHN DAY – John Day Interim City Manager Rick Allen was on KJDY’s Coffee Time this morning. Allen has been in the position for nearly two weeks, and he said he’s spent much of his time getting up to speed. Allen said one thing he aims to work on is improving the city’s working relationships within, with the public, and with other government entities:
“There [are] openings all around. Leading cities or counties or school districts is not easy.
The public in general, much like you see the country, the state. It’s “us vs. them,” and it is making it harder to govern. You take our City Council—all good people, all want the same thing—but how do you get there?”
