Interim City Manager gives update on downtown fire cleanup

JOHN DAY – John Day Interim City Manager Rick Allen was recently on KJDY’s Coffee Time. Allen gave listeners an update on the cleanup process regarding the devastating fire that consumed multiple businesses in downtown John Day:
“We do have ordinances. John Day has a good set of ordinances on that. You don’t know that you’ll ever need to use them, but we’ve been looking through those and we’re going to move forward in enforcing those ordinances and make sure that we are not left with a burned-out, unsafe situation in the heart of our downtown.”
