WALLA WALLA — A request from the Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners for early entry into Phase 2 of Gov. Jay Inslee’s reopening plan was sent to Olympia Thursday afternoon. Phase 2 is tentatively scheduled to begin June 1.
Under Phase 2 of the governor’s reopening plan, restaurants could operate at 50 percent capacity, with no table size larger than five people. Bar areas would remain closed.
In-home childcare, housecleaning and other domestic services would be allowed, as would real estate activity and some in-store retail purchases.
KTEL News was notified by the Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners that they don’t know the amount of time it will take to review the request. Letters of support from the city of College Place, city of Waitsburg, city of Walla Walla, Port of Walla Walla and Providence St. Mary Medical Center accompanied the commissioner’s request.
