PENDLETON – Now that Umatilla County has received permission to being Phase 1 of COVID-19 reopening, Pendleton city officials are working to determine how the municipal government can safely open its doors and return to what will be a new normal.
“We’re doing a lot of analysis of the way we do business and how to protect our employees as well as the public,” City Manager Robb Corbett said.
Government officials, healthcare workers, business owners, and private citizens believe that the country will be changing the way it does business. Corbett agreed.
“There is quite a bit of conversation about shielding that protects people from spray that naturally occurs when people interact,” he said of one thing the city is considering using. “It’s a different world.”
