JOHN DAY – It’s Spring Break in Oregon, and increased travel is expected through Grant County this week.

Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley earlier this month on KJDY reminded motorists to use their headlights during the morning commutes, and, also, use extra caution around these construction zones throughout Grant County:

“People are not driving with their headlights much [early in the mornings], and it’s getting a little hard to see some cars. We’ve had some complaints about that.

You know, just take care through those construction zones…watch out for the flaggers. Their lives matter, and you don’t want to get in an accident with one of them. It’s going to make the downtown area much better when they get done.”

ODOT’s Curb Ramp upgrade project is underway in Grant County towns along US Highway 26. Spring break travelers are reminded to use plenty of caution on your travels and enjoy Grant County.
