BAKER COUNTY – (Information provided by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office) The Baker County Sheriff’s Office, along with other law enforcement agencies around the state and country, will be participating in a DUII high visibility enforcement event August 18-September 6th.
The goal of this event is to keep impaired drivers off the road. Approximately one-third of all traffic crash fatalities in the United States involve drunk drivers (with a BAC at or above .08). In 2019, there were 10,142 people killed in drunk driving crashes. The Baker County Sheriff’s Office encourages drivers to be responsible and never drive if you choose to drink. This high visibility enforcement event is made possible by overtime funding through the Oregon Department of Transportation, NHTSA, and Oregon Impact.
