IMESD bids farewell to decades of educational experience

PENDLETON – The InterMountain Education Service District is saying goodbye to
decades of educational experience as several staff members prepare to retire at the
end of the school year.

Allison Lathrop served as a financial specialist in the IMESD business office for 18
years.

Eric Bolger worked 31 years in education, including 22 with IMESD. He served multiple
departments, most recently as director of migrant education, career and technical
education, and accountability assessment and collections.

Karen Brown Smith leaves with 38 years of service as data specialist and accountability
support.

Michele Madril is retiring after 17 years in education, including 11 with IMESD as
director of communications.

Those retirements become official on June 30.

Darrick Cope, Donna Lowry, and Patty Jo Lathrop are also retiring, but will continue to
work for IMESD.

“Thank you for the time, energy, and skills you have dedicated to the agency. We wish
you a long, happy and healthy retirement,” IMESD said in a statement.
