IMBLER – (information from the Imbler School District) The Imbler School District is considering changing its four-and-a-half-day school week schedule and is looking for feedback on new options. The School Week Committee has prepared a survey for parents, grandparents, guardians and community members for input on this potential change.
The proposed changes include a reduction to four days a week with daily hours running from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or an increase to five full days per week with daily hours reduced from their current amount. Maintaining the current four-and-a-half-days is also being considered. The description for the survey states:
“This committee is looking at a 4-day week, a 4 1/2-day week, and a 5-day week. All three of these weekly schedules will have about the same number of instructional hours (meaning hours students are in class). All of these schedules will vary depending on the school board approved calendar for each of these options. Alternate schedules may be built into each of these schedules, but the purpose of this survey is to receive feedback from families and/or community members. We would like your thoughts on these schedules and if there are reasons you prefer one over the other.”
Questions on the survey include what the participant would prefer overall for the school week schedule, what factors influence this decision and how each schedule would affect the participant’s child in terms of attendance, learning and childcare needs.
