IMBLER – During the Imbler School Board’s March 18 meeting, board members voted to permanently adopt a four day school week schedule going forward. For those unfamiliar, the Imbler School district initially voted to adopt a four-day school week in February 2023, transitioning from the long-standing four-and-a-half-day schedule. This initial transition involved a two-year pilot program, encompassing the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years. With this pilot program phase coming to an end, Imbler will now move forward with a four-day school week schedule as standard.
According to Deputy Clerk Teressa Dewey, Imbler has established a calendar committee comprised of various staff members to plan the district’s schedule of the upcoming school years. Some changes are being discussed, such as the current scheduling of enrichment days, but no other decisions have been made at this time.
Superintendent Randy Waite mentioned that having the four-day week solidified will make long term planning for the district’s schedule and calendar a bit easier going forward. Waite would also like to thank all community members and district staff that offered feedback on the four-day schedule plan.
