IMBLER – An Imbler man was recently arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon following an alleged confrontation with trespassers. The Union County Sheriff’s Office reports that, on Thursday, June 15, just after 5:00 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance on Pine Avenue. The initial call reported gunshots being heard.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with 45-year-old Brian Gregory Sprauer, whom they were familiar with. Sprauer claims several people had been on his property, refused to leave, and began threatening him when confronted. Claiming he felt threatened, Sprauer then allegedly grabbed a firearm out of his vehicle that was parked at the house.
From there, Sprauer allegedly fired the weapon toward the ground. Statements between Sprauer and a witness conflict on whether the shot was intentional or accidental. Ultimately, Sprauer was arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon by UCSO.
