UNION COUNTY – Oregon may be stereotyped as being full of left lane campers on the highway, but there is still a limit on what is considered a reasonable speed when passing a slower vehicle. One young lead foot was recently charged by Oregon State Police after being caught at upwards of 125mph on I-84 near La Grande. The traffic stop in question took place on September 30 at around 9:15 p.m. near milepost 264 Eastbound, just southeast of La Grande. As written by OSP in a recent press log:
“On the above stated date and time the Oregon State Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that was driving at speeds between 110 and 125 MPH going eastbound at mile post 264 on I 84. The driver was passing vehicles on the right and almost rear ended a vehicle that was changing lanes. After the initiated the traffic stop, the driver was arrested for Reckless driving and Reckless endangering another person. The driver was cited and released and drove the vehicle from the scene.”
The driver, identified as 20-year-old Arianna Kalinovskiy of Meridian Idaho was charged with Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangering Person.
