BAKER COUNTY– Idaho Power is warning customers about a recent wave of phone scams targeting its service area. The utility says scammers are posing as company representatives, falsely threatening immediate power shutoffs and demanding payment through pre-paid debit cards.
Idaho Power reminds customers it never demands immediate payment or accepts pre-paid cards. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and contact Idaho Power directly at 208-388-2323 or 1-800-488-6151.
