Idaho crash takes life of Grant County man, 4 others injured

GRASMERE, ID -A local Grant County man has died, and four others were injured as the result of a motor vehicle crash in Owyhee County, Idaho. 18-year-old Macquinzi Marlar crossed over the center line and into the lane of a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Deanna Maley, 53 of Fox. Passenger Rocky Maley, 55, died as a result of the crash. Deanna, as well as Marlar were transported by air ambulance to an area hospital. 29 year-old Cole Maley, 21 year-old Dillon Maley and 20 year-old Kelsi L. Kiser were transported by ground ambulance to the hospital. Find the release from the Idaho State Police below:

“On July 7, 2020, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash on SH 51 at milepost 32, near Grasmere, in Owyhee County, ID.  

Macquinzi A. Marlar, 18, of Crescent Valley, NV, was driving southbound in a 2003 Subaru Legacy.  Deanna M. Maley, 53, of Fox, OR, was driving northbound in a 2019 Chevrolet Suburban.  Marlar drove left of the center line, and struck Maley.

Also in Maley’s vehicle were Rocky L. Maley, 55, of Fox, OR; Dillon L. Maley, 21, of Fox, OR; Cole J. Maley, 29, of Fox, OR; and Kelsei L. Kiser, 20, of Council, ID. 

Marlar and Deanna M. Maley were wearing seatbelts.  Both were transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID.   

None of the passengers were wearing seatbelts.  Rocky L. Maley was ejected from the vehicle, and succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene.  Dillon L. Maley, Cole J. Maley, and Kiser were transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID. 

The road was either fully blocked or partially blocked for approximately four and a half hours as crews worked to clear the crash.”
