I-84 wreck sends multiple people to hospital

PENDLETON – A multi-vehicle accident on I-84 in Pendleton Tuesday sent multiple people to the hospital.

According to Oregon State Police, at approximately 12:32 p.m. a blue Toyota Tacoma was stopped on the eastbound right shoulder of I-84 near milepost 213, near the Pendleton City Center/U.S. 30 exit. It attempted to cross both lanes of traffic and enter a median turnout when it was struck by a Toyota Camry that was also traveling eastbound in the left lane. It was also struck by a tan Toyota Tacoma that too was traveling eastbound in the left-hand lane.

Both the driver and passenger in the Camry, and the driver of the tan Tacoma, were transported to St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. The extent of their injuries is not known. The driver and child in the silver Camry are from Rathdrum, Idaho. The driver and passenger in the tan Tacoma are from Golden, Colorado.

The driver of the blue Tacoma, from Reno, Nevada, was cited for careless driving resulting in an accident. All vehicles involved had to be towed away from the scene. There was also a passenger in the blue Tacoma who is from Rochester, Washington.
