I-84 WB Closed between Baker City and Pendleton

LA GRANDE – UPDATE 5:08 P.M. — All lanes on Interstate 84 between Ontario and Pendleton are now open after being closed for several hours for an apparent overturned semi-truck.

UPDATE 4:25 P.M. — Due to the ongoing closure and diverted traffic, the La Grande Police Department reports continued heavy congestion on Island Avenue. Drivers entering or exiting Island Avenue from local side streets and driveways are asked to use caution and be patient.

I-84 Westbound remains closed fully from Baker City to Pendleton and closed trucks from Ontario to Pendleton as of the latest update from ODOT.

UPDATE 3:00 P.M. — I-84 Westbound is now closed between Ontario and Pendleton to trucks/CMVs. The closure for all other traffic remains in place between Baker City and Pendleton.

OR-245 between Unity and Salisbury is also restricted to local traffic only.

UPDATE 2:15 P.M. from ODOT: -84 westbound is closed between Baker City and Cabbage Hill, milepost 302 to 224, due to a crash. Closure is expected to last a few hours. OR 204/Tollgate is closed to non-local traffic and is not a viable detour route for I-84 traffic.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 84 between La Grande and Cabbage Hill east of Pendleton have been closed due to a crash.

No more information is available at this time, and there is no estimated time of reopening.

Oregon 204, the Tollgate Highway is open to local freight and passenger vehicles only to prevent commercial vehicles from using it as a detour for the closure.

The La Grande Police Department are reporting congestion and Adams Avenue due to the closure. Local drivers may need to find an alternative route through town.
