UNION COUNTY – (Information provided by Oregon Department of Transportation) Westbound traffic has returned to the westbound side of I-84 from milepost 237 to 241 in the Meacham area. Eastbound traffic will remain where it currently is. The left lanes both eastbound and westbound will remain closed 24/7 for the next couple of weeks. Next week the contractor will be removing the temporary ramps in the center median at the Meacham interchange (Exit 238), removing the crumbling concrete center median barrier (new barrier will be placed the week of October 11), constructing cable rail in the grassy center median, and continuing to complete unfinished bridge work.
There will be a lot of activity in the center of the freeway with workers and equipment immediately adjacent to live traffic this week and trucks entering and leaving the work zone. Please be extra aware as you travel through the work zone.
Please remember that the speed limit through the work zone will remain 50 MPH.
We expect to have the freeway completely open no later than November 1.
