I-84 Closure, Northeast Oregon

Update: The I-84 closure and associated closures have been lifted

Update from ODOT as of 7:45pm: The westbound closure of I-84 now extends from Exit 374 in Ontario to milepost 244, east of Pendleton. Local traffic only. All truck traffic must exit at Exit 374 or an earlier exit. This closure for trucks is due to limited safe parking options beyond this point.
Extreme icy conditions caused multiple crashes, and a truck is blocking both lanes at milepost 231. Crews continue working to reopen I-84 as soon as possible. Delay travel if possible. If you must travel, be prepared for delays and winter conditions, and stick to main highways.

Update as of 7:05pm: The I-84 is now closed at Ontario to trucks westbound due to multiple crashes.

LA GRANDE — UPDATE 6:10 I-84 Westbound is now closed between Baker City (Milepost 302) and Pendleton (Milepost 223). OR-204 Tollgate and US-30 are closed to all non-local traffic. No estimated time of re-opening has been given. From ODOT:

“I-84 is closed westbound between Exit 302 in Baker City and milepost 224 east of Pendleton due to extreme icy conditions, causing multiple crashes and a truck blocking both lanes. Crews are working to reopen I-84 as soon as possible. Local access only. OR 204 (Tollgate Highway) is also closed to non-local traffic as it is not a viable detour route for I-84. Other routes may also be affected by the winter weather. If possible, avoid travel. If you must travel, be prepared for delays and winter conditions, and stick to main highways. Do not rely on GPS navigation devices, as they may direct you to routes that are in worse condition or not maintained during winter. Continue to check TripCheck.com for updates. More Info
