NORTHEAST OREGON — It’s not something you hear of or even think of, a hurricane having an effect in eastern Oregon. But that could be reality this week.
Hurricane Hilary, which formed off the coast of Mexico last week, made landfall in southern California over the weekend and the National Weather Service predicts the remnants of the hurricane will move through Nevada and up to Eastern Oregon and Idaho.
The NWS says the area could see impressive rainstorms and thunderstorms beginning Monday the 21st and Tuesday the 22.
There’s also a chance of Flash Flood Warnings.
The NWS is also forecasting high temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s in Baker and Union counties through Wednesday the 23rd.
