Huntington woman arrested for disturbance spits on law enforcement officer

BAKER COUNTY – (Release from the Baker County Sheriff’s Office) On May 30, 2024 at approximately 6:22 p.m., Baker County Sheriffโ€™s Office Dispatch received a 911 call from a female that indicated she was on a dirt road and claimed to have been assaulted. Dispatchers determined her location to be on Malheur Line Road.

Sgt. Rilee responded to the area and made contact with a female. The female, identified as Haley Murray (31 yoa), showed signs of impairment and asked for a ride back to her residence in Huntington. Upon arrival at the residence, Sgt. Rilee spoke with the occupants of the home. During the investigation, it was determined that earlier in the day Murray and the other occupants were having a verbal altercation. Murray threw her cell phone and hit one of the occupants in the face, causing him to sustain a physical injury. This occurred in the presence of a minor child. Murray eventually left the residence and then called 911.

Murray was placed under arrest. While assisting Murray with her seatbelt in the patrol car, she spit on Sgt. Rilee twice.

Murray was charged with Assault IV and Aggravated Harassment. She was transported to the Baker County Jail where she was lodged.
