HUNTINGTON – (Release from the Baker County Sheriff’s Office) On July 15, 2023 at approximately 3:13 a.m., Baker County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch was notified of an altercation involving a knife in Huntington, Oregon.
Deputies responded to the area and located a male juvenile with a laceration to the wrist. Deputy Mills provided first aid until MetroWest Ambulance and Huntington Fire/Quick Response Unit arrived. The juvenile was transported to a Life Flight helicopter.
During the investigation, deputies located the suspect identified as, David Carson Weiss (20 yoa), of Huntington. It was determined that Weiss and the male juvenile were engaged in an altercation when Weiss cut the victim with a folding knife causing the victim to suffer serious injury to his wrist. Weiss was arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon and Probation Violation. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming. He was booked and lodged in the Baker County Jail.Baker County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Metro West Ambulance, Huntington Fire/Quick Response Unit and Life Flight.
