OREGON – ODFW is reminding hunters that purchased 2023 tags to report all hunts by January 31, 2024. This applies to any hunter that purchased a 2023 tag with a season between April 1 and December 31. This deadline applies regardless of if hunters were successful in their hunts or even hunted at all.

Failure to report on time will result in a $25 dollar penalty. This penalty, as stated by ODFW, “is paid with the purchase of a hunting license two years hence. Only a single penalty is assessed, regardless of the number of tags you did not report.”

Hunters that do report on time will be entered to wing a special big game tag with privileges similar to auction and raffle tags. Three winners will be drawn each year and given the choice of deer, elk, or pronghorn in an extended season hunt. This drawing will take place in June 2024.

Hunters can report tags online or through MyODFW app. Tags can also be reported through an official ODFW License agent or in person at any ODFW office. For additional information, visit https://myodfw.com/articles/report-your-hunt
