Humbolt Elementary prepared for the next wave of kindergarteners

JOHN DAY – Humbolt Elementary Kindergarten Teacher, and current Regional Teacher of the Year Sena Raschio, was in KJDY studios recently, along with Frontier Early Learning Hub Director Patti Wright to discuss all things kindergarten. Mrs. Raschio said next month will be their annual gold rush:

“We will be having our annual Kindergarten Gold Rush coming up on April 23rd from 5 ‘til 7 [p.m.] This is a time for families to come out and register their child and get started on the path to ‘Kindergarten land’.”

For those families who register a kindergartener, a special “Move-Up Day” is scheduled for May 8th. This is an opportunity for parents and students to view the school and facilities, as well as get acquainted with Mrs. Raschio.

Frontier Early Learning Hub Director Patti Wright said they’ll be supporting Move-Up Day as well:

“On moving day our hub sponsors—it’s a pizza box—it goes home with all the kids who do move-up day that go to Humbolt….It’s a summer activity box. It’s got crayons, and markers, and all kinds of activities, Play-Doh, a book…because we want those incoming Kindergarteners to keep their skills sharp and not forget everything they’ve learned in preschool.”
