CANYON CITY – With childcare opportunities scarce in Grant County, Grant School District 3’s Humbolt Elementary is stepping up to help fill the need.
Humbolt Childcare Center Director Trina Fell was on KJDY’s Coffee Time to discuss the incoming childcare center. She said children from 6-months-old, all the way to school-age students are eligible. There will be a curriculum-driven preschool and daycare opportunities.
As with all startups and new endeavors, Fell mentioned there have been challenges:
“What’s been the biggest challenge is being able to show [parents and students] the classroom, as we are still setting up and getting things in. So, that’s my biggest focus right now, is being able to show them the program.”
She said if all goes well, they should be open and ready to accommodate youngsters beginning August 21st.
