Humbolt Childcare Center hopes to open by the end of summer

CANYON CITY – Grant School District 3 will be implementing childcare and preschool options soon, according to local officials. Trina Fell, Director of the Humbolt Childcare Center said some of the details are still in the works, but once up-and-running, it will be open to all Grant County community members.
Fell gave KJDY’s Coffee Time listeners an idea of how many kids they plan on serving:
“We’re hoping to get at least 20 preschoolers, 8 infants, 10 toddlers—that’s kind of our goal. Obviously, that’s still in the works.
To get licensed, we are looking to serve six-weeks up to five years, so that is the age range.”
Fell said they are hoping the center will be ready to open at the beginning of the school year this fall.
